Our Story

Cornet Bay Sanctuary was born from a bond between a father and daughter who believed that care, beauty, and belonging should be accessible to everyone.

Gary saw the land first—an overgrown, weathered property tucked between forest and sea. But he didn’t just see what it was; he saw what it could become. Sarah returned home with a vision of her own: a desire to create a place where people could pause, exhale, and be restored.

Together, they spent years shaping the space into what it is now. Cabins rebuilt by hand. Paths cleared. Gardens planted. A Net Shed raised above the bay, where the water glimmers just so. Every board, every beam, every bird feeder placed with love.

It’s been a labor of love—rooted in the belief that we all need places to land.
To be held.
To begin again.

This is our offering.
A return.
A renewal.
A quiet revolution.

A sanctuary.

“At its core, Cornet Bay Sanctuary is a return—to self, to place, to time itself. I dream of a world where sanctuaries are woven into the fabric of our lives—spaces that invite us to pause, reconnect, and remember what it means to simply be.”
